Kuala Lumpur

We took our first of many train rides from JB to Gemas and Gemas to Kuala Lumpur.  We enjoyed the train even though the ride was all day - 7 hours till we got to our hotel...  The first train was not as nice and the bathroom was about as big as a coat closet in America.  The gap to board the train was over a foot wide and hard to lug the suitcases.  The second train was a speedy, smooth express and I even managed a bit of photo editing while riding.  The countryside was lush and green, but the view was narrow and sameness - kinda boring...  Here are photos from that ride

Train #2 Gemas to KL
Upon arriving in KL, a mani-pedi was still on my mind because I did not want to break any nails and my toes looked sad.  So after unpacking  and checking out The Mecure Hotel's amenities, we were again directed to a mall.  It was a closer walk and although we were hungry, I wanted to check available appointment times first as it was almost 7pm.  On the walk over, we noticed a bbq place and I think B and I both decided that was our later dinner spot.  We found the nail spa Bora Bora and I got a shellac (& other removed) and a pedi for $35!  B went to find Krispy Kreme for a snack and then came back and had a pedi too - they even put clear polish on his toes!  LOL!

2 fisted nail dryer lol!

BBQ satay yum!  Cold noodle salad for me - tasty!
We took the hop on-hop off bus(which they call the ho-ho bus - haha!) to see the sights of Kuala Lumpur.  It is pretty much a big city and we would not necessarily revisit here, but we enjoyed our time.  The round trip on the bus was 3 hours long because traffic is bad.  There are not as many scooters here, but they still bob and weave thru the cars and buses.  We never did "hop off" the bus as I had a date with a market for shopping and we were running behind.  LOL!  Also it was about time to eat again - it seems my blog is either about shopping or eating!  LOL! The 2 necessities of life...  Enjoy the sites from the ho-ho bus:
(omg! it's taken 2 hours and no more photos will load - off to bed, will try again later)

  1. Looks like the trains were nice, much better than air travel. I think they have a ho-ho bus in Austin, probably not he same as there..
