Bangkok Dinner Cruise on the Chao Phraya River

We went on a dinner cruise last night and it is going to be a favorite memory for me.  We were lucky enough to be seated upstairs outside, even though we were right next to the band.
More about that later.  The docking operation is a good one:  about 6 companies use the same dock and they stagger boarding times.

Asian design vessel, also a dinner cruise
The ship was quite grand and the buffet was good.  Food ranged from stir fry to beef lasagna.  Fresh fruits and even edamame.  Colleen, they had seaweed salad!  I ate a bunch of it...lol also found a fried noodle ball - looks about the size of a meatball, but rice krispy looking and dipped in plum sauce, yum...

So as we were seated and noticed the band, we were afraid it was going to be the clang/twang of Thai music all night.  But they had a traditional dancer do one dance then opened the buffet line.  The singer began with "Your eyes only" and played recognizable mellow music the rest of the night.  I danced my way to the buffet line, danced in my chair and finally dance in the aisle - all mostly by myself.  Occasionally someone would pop up and dance with me, but only to take their pic with the "crazy lady"...lol  Eventually the band played "Gangum Style" and all the Asians got up on the dance floor and mostly never left...lol  I danced so much my fit bit beeped, my dress was drenched, and my feet were sore (but there is always foot massage) lol...  I had a blast all night and B is a wonderful guy to indulge my "public dancing"... love ya B...  They ended with "Achy Breaky Heart" and the waitresses started a line dance in the aisle.  B pointed it out to me and I immediately jumped up and began the "Electric Slide" following to perfection and one time even leading it as the one waitress left for a minute to grab a passenger...  So MUCH FUN!
Seated behind us were 2 young Japanese girls.  They were striking poses for photos, so I jumped up and struck a similar pose next. They giggled then had to take photos with me.  They were adorable and said they love America - Jess, you can take your pic, but the one on the right was more exuberant...

The cruise itself was delightful.  The breezes were blowing and the lights were sparkling.  Amp up the San Antonio River cruise times 10 and you get the idea...  Enjoy these photos and we'll see you on the other side...

I swiped this photo as I wanted you to see Wat Pho in all it's glory...

Today is a rainy morning so we are relaxing inside, taking care of things...  have a great day today and a better one tomorrow
