Hong Kong

Well we arrived in Hong Kong after the loooong 15 hour flight in decent shape.  Thanks to my friend Susan Rhodes for recommending Premium Economy class.  It was well worth the upgrade, as we got the bulk head seats that reclined with foot rests, hot towels - the best, UT orange socks and 2 full meals.  I would totally endorse Singapore Air - it was a great flight.  We landed at 7am, cleared customs by 8 and were at our hotel by 915am.  We dropped our luggae at hotel and went for coffee and a massage - so relaxing.
The only problem is Hong Kong is experiencing unseasonably cold weather and we did NOT pack for temperatures in the 40's and 50's...lol so much for escaping to warmer weather.  Oh and did I mention our hotel has no heating - not very many hotels in Hong Kong do...  we have spent a lot of time in Starbucks and other warm restaurants drinking lots of hot tea...  We have not been very food adventurous - so far a bbq place, Pizza Hut and McDonalds.  LOL!  Food is a bit pricey - 1 large pizza was $30!
Went on an afternoon walking tour Tuesday to see a variety of markets.  We traveled to the meet up point by subway and that was great.  There were 7 of us crazy tourists braving the cold to see the flower market, the songbird market, a popular flea market (where I bought long underwear and scarves for B & me)and a 17 story high shopping mall.  It was a fun guided tour, but B says he could have taken me to all those places at half the price...lol!  Our tour ended at the huge mall and several of us went to a nice Chinese restaurant, Jasmine Garden.  I had a fried rice dish and B has bbq pork - we ended up sharing, it was quite tasty.
We board the Volendam cruise ship later today - hopefully in search of sunshine and warmer weather, so I better get packing.    Enjoy the photos, I will caption later:

San Francisco

We arrived safely last night and stayed at a hotel near the airport.  Walked down the street for dinner and ended up at a Chinese restaurant - silly us, cause we won't get enough Asian food in the next 2 months...  Yi Yuan was the place and it was really good.
We are headed out with WG friends to Fisherman's Wharf today and fly tonight at midnight.  The looooong 15 hour flight begins (ugh!) and we arrive in Hong Kong on Monday morning 7amish...
See ya here from there
